Who Am I? A myriad of many things really... here is
some of me... but you will never get all of me...

Latest in Television Obsessions... there's always
something...
- Battlestar
Galatica - One of the best shows on TV in my opinion.
- SciFi Friday's is
the God of TV. Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis with a BSG kicker. What more
can you ask for? Firefly! Definitely Firefly. Too bad that series didn't last long.
Catch the movie Serenity if you can. I loved it.
- Alias
- Jennifer Garner kicks ass - thus causing her to be my hero. The Alias
website used to kick ass in the first season. Not so much anymore, but
still entertaining.
- Survivor -
I've been hooked since day one. Now it's more nostalgic love than
anything else. It still gets my attention each week. Gotta love
Jeff Probst, he is a riot.
- Grey's Anatomy - Newest hot
show on my list. Funny as all hell. I recommend catching an episode. I tend to laugh my ass off every
episode. Of course, I have a warped sense of humor and am easily amused too.

I didn't get the nickname Gadget Girl without
cause...
This months newest toys are...
- Think DVR... forget TiVo. Who wants to pay for a service charge each
month? I think I pay out the ass to the cable company enough for
television as it is... I found a sweet DVR that just makes my day. (Did
I just say sweet? Someone save me). The Panasonic
DMR-E95HS is what it is all about in my opinion. Not only does it
have a 160 Gig hard drive, but it can burn your recorded fun onto DVDs!
Definitely shop around online though, I found it for under $500 and
couldn't be happier.
- Think PDA. Think color. Wireless. Bluetooth. Compact. Think... I
can surf the net from anywhere in my house with a small 3 inch device.
What more can you ask for? I recently acquired a Dell
Axim x50v. Not necessarily my first choice in color pocket
pc's, but definitely a fun little device. My newest facination is taking
all sorts of DVD's from home (like the FIREFLY TV Series) and converting them
to small viewable files for the PDA. Imagine having 9 episodes of a show with
you when you are bored on a plane or kicking at the gym. Sweet. Oh, might want
consider getting a couple of Gigs worth of SD Cards and Compact Flash cards to go
with that. The built in storage won't quite cut it.
- Well... you do need actual wireless in the house to go along with
it. Netgear
WG602 54Mbps Wireless G Access Point and the Netgear
WG511 wireless card for the laptop of course. Easy as can be, works
like a charm.

Books
I read almost non-stop from a large variety of authors. There is a
plethora of talented and remarkable writers online who's stunning literary
talent will never make it to a published page. It is unfortunate. In my next
life, I want to be a publisher I think, because there are far too many
wonderful writers who deserve to be immortalized on the printed page.
History remembers only what is written and documented, which means those who
can put pen to paper get to make reality what they want of it. That thought
says a lot more about my lack of beliefs in things like organized religion
and political parties than I care to put on my web page. Suffice it to
say... writing is a gift from whatever deity you may or may not believe
in. Those who have it, should have the freedom and opportunity to
express it. For that, the internet is an invaluable tool. I am quite
thankful that I live in an era where the internet exists. I'm
rambling. I do that. It happens. I'm done now.
After all that... I've not linked a single damn author have I?
Figures.
99% of what I read is not published and lives only on the internet, however here are some of what you can buy off the shelf from the local bookstore that I
highly recommend...
- Janet Evanovich
- the entire Stephanie Plum series (not the romance novels - eww)
- J.K. Rowling -
I may be an adult, but I still believe in magic. The entire Harry Potter
series is just a work of art.
- Dan Brown -
both the DaVinci's Code, (which I'm tired of hearing so much about, but
I enjoyed the crack to Catholicism) and Digital Fortress which I found
to be a quite entertaining spy sorta story. Rather like an entertaining
episode of Alias actually.

Movies and Cartoons
These really go hand-in-hand for me as I adore cartoons and cartoon
movies, generally. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend catching
The Incredibles. It is worth it by far. You know, reviewing my
list below, you would think I was 10. Apparently it doesn't matter how old I
am, I never really grew up.
- The
Incredibles - the best cartoon movie out there and one of my
favorite movies
- Any Harry Potter
movie as they are just fun.
- Any action flick containing a girl who kicks your ass is cool in my
book. No matter how bad the movie apparently. Tomb
Raider... the first one was cool. What were they doing on the
second one? Can you please make good sequels? You're killing me. Elektra
was damn fun. In case you didn't read it above, Jennifer Garner is
my hero. Thank your favorite deity they got rid of Ben for this movie.
Dare Devil just sucked. The man can't act. Jennifer on the other
hand...
- Buzz Lightyear
cartoons rule - unfortunately they aren't out on DVD, nor are they on
any station I receive any longer. I am quite disappointed as they make
me laugh.
- Jackie
Chan Adventures is just cute, not much else I can say.
- Teen Titans
... have you HEARD the theme song? You can't help but sing it really
loudly because it is just too damn funny. Seriously funny cartoon.

Food is Love
Just look at my waistline to prove that out. If it is a cooking
gadget, I probably own it.
Alton Brown is my
God. Science and Food. The secret combination to my heart. If you can
somehow throw a little SciFi fun into the mix I may never leave
your side.
I met Alton at a recent book signing in Jan 2005. The man is a genuine
sweetheart, highly intelligent, and very funny in my book. I encourage you
to watch his show or read his books.
